    (De)Activating Secondary Monitor

I'm using Windows2000 with dual monitors.
Since some games I play go silly if I start
them with both monitors activated, I have too
deactivate the secondary monitor before playing those
    games, and reactivate it afterwards.

The normal way is to go into the display properties and
    perform the change.

    The question is:
Is there a way to make a link to some dll with some
parameters (I know there are such links to e.g. restart
the computer) wich (de)activates the secondary
    monitor?

    I'm using a Geforce 4 MX onboard and a
    Number Nine Revolution 3D PCI.

    Thanks in advance,

That would be cool and I'd like to know the same think. I've done some google searches, but generaly come up empty handed.

It's such a pain in the .......... to turn off the second monitor just because I want to play a game. It messes up my desktop icons (I keep them on the 2nd monitor) and I forget to turn it off 50% of the time, so I have to exit the game, turn of the monitor, then start the game again.

Maybe I'm just lazy, but there has to be a better way around this

The name escapes me but there is a program listed on www.download.com that will disable a second monitor when u launch specified programs. You launch say HL from the programs customizeable launch list and bam, single monitor.
