celeron ::shiver::
*brrrrrrr*integrated LAN, Sound, Video
integrated i can suffer with if i had too, i'd never touch a celeron....
I installed Win98 on a pc with all this intregrated stuff, Took me
ages to get the damn $$$$ working, The drivers for those onboard
things are virtually NEVER updated.
well, it'd be a waste of time in a way of speaking.
You would be a waste of time? Well, if you say so....Originally posted by RoD

when it comes to me i think waste of space fits better.
It blows the doors off my old computer, sadly.
The old processer was below 900MHz
And no, i am not doing anything heavy graphics/sound.
Though if i were to start, i belive i could put in a pci video card.
I'm not totally sure, But i think you can add a custom graphics
card to your pc might your onboard grahics card fail running
Doom3 or something...
I have to admit that i would never build with a mini-tower like the emachine i have.
I opened it up, and crap! Say how good is my cooling/ventilation, and ill say, what cooling?
It has a heatsink, but all it has other than that is a fan blowing air into the case, and a rigt below it, a fan-sized place with holes punched in it!
Cant companies put in decent cooling?
Yet another reason to build you own computer.
Well, Since a pre-build computer won't be modified with better
and faster hardware they can determine exactly how much
cooling it should have to function properly, And no that isn't
much in many cases, Don't expect to be able to overclock it
or anything.
Building your own computer rocks!
Of course!
Since nobody wants to open the pretty little case, out of fear of breaking the pretty little sticker that could void your warrenty!
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.
Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
Dream: linux, mandrake, then slackware.
LOL, I hear that so much
Here's how we work though. You can open your case, you can upgrade anything you want. However, anything you upgrade and any damage your upgrade causes is not covered.
I swear factory warranty is so much more anal that us in the extended warranty end
dell lets me do all my own work, they jus supply fat n free parts.
emachines are crap. my gf has one. yuck.
