Or you could buy a case where superior cooling is build in,
though these are very expensive they save you from the trouble
    of installing everything yourself.

How about digging up an old 4MHz CPU and see how cool you can get it? Then see how much you can overclock it .

Overclocking isn't always related to temperature, If that was so
    i would've breached 3ghz a long time ago .
I do miss old processor, Old processors are the only ones that
    are REALLY rock solid.

Oke, Sorry. But i stick with my point that 286 are the only reall
stable processors. I don't know where i read it, But people seem
to be wondered why NASA uses 286 or 186's in spaceships, Well
spaceships can't afford a single mistake, So the 286 is your CPU.
I'm not saying Athlon's or Pentiums aren't stable but they have
yet to prove that they are.

anyway he did this by installing some liquid nitrogen tubes around his cpu and then he overclocked it so if im correct u wouldnt hurt anyone with a very cold cpu. Unless urself who maybe is about to be glued to the comp :s
i say bull unless your friend has a lot of money not to mention really good ventilation... we dont seem to like breathing in pure nitrogen.... not to mention a permit to handle high pressure liquids...

The columbia didnt shatter because of a computer fault though, did it? Sure, when the heat tile failed, the circitry fried, but thats understandable.
The only good thing about freezing beyond feeling in the final Nordic ski race was that I couldn't feel that tumble I did going about 30 mph, maybe more.
On the other hand, not feeling any part of my body for 30 minutes was scary, especialy for my manhood.

Windoze: XP, hate it, though its more stable than my old 98SE
    Dream: linux, mandrake, then slackware.

I think it's just too unreliable, Same with water-cooling, A water-
cooling system is very unsafe, I had it that water was leaking out
    , the pump broke etc.

i would be more concerned about dying from the nitrogen fumes as it vaporizes... it wont stay liquid very long at STP...

Yeah, Working with NitroGen is Xtra unsafe. Water leaking out
    wont harm (you), nitrogen would.

nitrogen is safe when its used in the right way.
its like a gun: a gun is safe unless u pull the trigga when pointed out to someone.

nitrogen cooling is indeed not as safe as just a coolinf fan. But have u thought of the fact that a piece of the cooling fan may spin off right through the case and right into ur legs, not to mention right in your balls. Ridiculous

The currently used technology has nearly reached it's maximum - chip industry will radically change.

In the near future there'll be no need for processor cooling, as they will probably perspire and shout out :"Hey man, it's terribly hot in here!"

I'm already prepared for that. For liquid nitrogen not!

    Proposal:
this thread should be eventually moved to "Fun" section...hmm, as it's closed, to "General Discussions"
