Thread: My laptop has 2 partitions, one is unlabeled

My laptop has 2 partitions, one is unlabeled

My IBM notebook has 2 partitions, one is the main C: drive and the other partition is about 1Gig but it has no drive letter attached to it.

This unlabeled partition has all of the IBM recovery programs on it that run before windows starts up, but it also contains the files necessary to restore WinME which it came with, and there is no chance I will ever REVERT back. So now I have 1Gig of used space on my HD.

I do think it is neat to have that unlabeled partition b/c it seems like it is uncorruptable but how do I delete that partition, give it a name, or just rearange it so I don't have 1Gig of useless files sitting on my Notebook?

Also, I'd like to know if it is possible for me to create an unlabeled partition on my own for any of my other comps.

Have you tried Partition Magic? Seems like that could take care of it pretty easily...

Boot with a WIndows boot disk and use fdisk to remove the partition and recreate it.

Why do you think the site owner added this little rider to his pages...
