My brother just bought a MS SideWinder gamepad, and i'm still struggling to get the hang of this thing. It's so sensitive, and damn hard to use.
Is this because the controller is new or what?

IMHO it's because the controller just plain sucks. I hate the sidewinders...all of them. Most just feel plain cheesy and I hate the response. Most of the pc controllers I have used sucked compared to console controllers. My roomate found a nice little connector and driver you can order on the net that allows you to use a playstation controller. I was going to go that route too, but I just found a cool hack to use the X-Box controller s. Thats the best controller out there as far as I'm concerned.
