Im getting ManDrake PowerPack Linux 9.0!

once i get my new computer (which will be a few months) or even before that, im getting ManDrake Linux PowerPack 9.0. im wondering, is this any better than Red Hat Linux Home Edition 6.0 (i think thats the version).

i find ManDrake 9.0 to look really good with great functionality. though i havent tested it. i just saw the box and a few screenshots form the mandrake linux website. is it true that you can customize what it looks like? (to a certain extent)?

is it any better than the downloadable version of RebHat Linux (newest version)?

The only difference between boxed versions of distros and the downloaded versions are the extra software that comes with it and the limited (30 day) support it comes with. I bought the Red Hat 7.2 personal version and it came with some game demos from Loki and some other extra software.

PS. There was no need to spam the General board because no one has replied to you in a few hours.....

I bought the Red Hat boxed version to support them since I've been using their free ISOs for so long. They don't have a money tree ya know.......

    Maybe I will....

Why don't you purchase a boxed version of your distro or donate to your favorite distro?

I also try to help out with the GNOME project as much as possible.

I support my distro with projects and its evangelization (slackware). I think its quite a good thing you help your distro and the Gnome project. Hopefully one day I can help GNU/Linux with good kernel hacking, but Im not quite there yet

I'm in the same boat with the GNOME project. I lurk around the #bugs channel on gnome.org's irc server and try to recreate bugs that are submitted and anything else. I'm in no position to hack on anything right now. I started reading the Linux Kernel book by O'Reilly but got side-tracked with other things. I'd like to do some kernel hacking also at some point in time.
