new to website testing

Hi guys,

I got a work placement as a website tester for a start-up company. Does anyone have tips for my predicament: I wrote a list of features that the website should have and I test each one in several browsers. Each time I find a bug I report it to the developer. The trouble is he makes some changes and asks me to check it again, and very quickly things get messed up with him changes things while I'm checking things. Also if I keep rechecking the same bug my boss is like "why haven't you finished the list of features?"

Any advice is appreciated,

Use version control if it can be properly integrated in the scenario..

Yeah... get used to it... That's the way things work in the real world... The idea is that once you find and report one problem, you move on to the next... they work on what you reported and pass it back to you... You double check and move on... Yes you're testing the same pages all the time, but not working on the same problems. It's a bit of a head trip, but once you and the developers get in sync, it works very well...

Agreed, I'm a web developer at the moment (and it's terribly boring) and when I first started it was like this. You'll get into sync with the devs, give it time.
