Why does rsync create 2 processes?

    Hi,
I just noticed this... When I run rsync and check ps, I see 2 rsync processes.
Why does it need to create 2 processes?

Some unix programs load up, see what needs to be done then fork off another process to do the work. Maybe its that...

    rsync
It's open source, read the code
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
