| Have you tried reinstalling the browser? It might solve the problem.

| Are you sure the pages are still up? (not just the servers). Ping and http requests are handled on different ports, just because the server responds to a ping doesn't mean the box is running a web server. Can he log-in from a different computer?

| >How do you connect to the internet (router? direct? Linux firewall?) It's a direct connection. Reinstalled windows, logged on to the net, and everything was fine for about 10 or 15 minutes. Then suddenly the connection was broken. Again, we can connect to the net, but web pages aren't loading, and cannot download. Could it be some kind of virus? modem problem?

| Firewall is on. But at 1st the machine can load webpages. It seems like the problem comes some time after the 1st web usage.

| Did you try seeing the modem/router's diagnostics?. Or could it be modem's driver incompatiblity with OS? Did you try installing the updated version of the device driver for the modem/router? I used to have similar problems like this, and the first thing i would do is to see the router's diagnostics. 90% of the time it solves the problem and the problem usually would be on the ISP's side.

| Seeing as to how pinging works, but browsing doesn't, have you tried using accessing the net using something other than HTTP? Do domain names get resolved, or can an HTTP connection just not be established? (Your browser should tell you that.) Have you tried browsing FTP, or using IRC, or something else?

| My friend have reinstalled windows again and up to now there was no problem. We'll update the modem software. If it stops working again, i'll try browsing FTP and make a reply. Thanx guys for the help!
