    Question History Command Log File

Isn't there a log file in Linux whereby commands previosly used are stored? Say i did a command like sudo rm -R /etc, isn't there a file which stores it? I know the command history does show some, but not all.

If yes, where could i locate the log file like the directory, say in Ubuntu hardy heron or Fedora 10
