On Linux people don't install driver for "Linksys" or "DLink", but for the actual chipset those cards use. Most of the popular chipsets have good Linux drivers, "Broadcom", "Atheros", etc. Failing that, I have found ndiswrapper to work quite well, too (using Windows wireless drivers).

No, that is not correct. Laserlight is correct.
Windows 7 is an evolution of Vista. It uses the same shell, the same kernel, etc.
