On Linux people don't install driver for "Linksys" or "DLink", but for the actual chipset those cards use. Most of the popular chipsets have good Linux drivers, "Broadcom", "Atheros", etc. Failing that, I have found ndiswrapper to work quite well, too (using Windows wireless drivers).

    > Does POSIX standards apply for systems other than *NIX then?
It's just a standard, anyone can adopt it. And Microsoft did (parts of it) when they worked with IBM on OS/2 -- which never worked out and they went in their own directions

Well, the 'X' in the acronym made me believe that it is for *NIX systems only.
    Thanks for clarifying.

No programming language is perfect. There is not even a single best language; there are only languages well suited or perhaps poorly suited for particular purposes.

The written requirements are the same. Even so, Windows 7 actually requires less of the hardware to run smoothly, so you might say they have decreased.

No, that is not correct. Laserlight is correct.
Windows 7 is an evolution of Vista. It uses the same shell, the same kernel, etc.
