Err, i fail to see how a mouse is better than a touch screen, if you've got hot wing sauce all over your hands?
How I need a drink, alcoholic in nature, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics.

Since it is all going to cost thousands I doubt any workplaces will be sacrificing their keyboard and mice for some fancy piece of tech that prob won't work correctly until the third revision. That is to say nothing of Microsoft's famous upgrade prices they will probably force upon all users.

I find it useful under certain circumstances. I envision a near(?) future of common and cheaply available touchscreens replacing our traditional screens. Then the usage will be mostly limited to certain patterns that will for sure speed up computer usage; reading threads on these boards, scrolling, point and click centered applications will also benefit.

The keyboard and mouse will always stay though. Most definitely I don't see a credible replacement for the keyboard.

I'm sure there was people who thought the keyboard was a terrible idea, and thought that punch cards were the way to go.

Personally, I find soft keyboards hard to use as it is -- let alone a touch screen! Mind <-> Computer is probably not that far off.

right, cuz at work you totally want your computer to automatically go search for naughty things on the web when you see an attractive person of the opposite sex...

Or wandering into an office and yelling "Format C colon yes"

If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

Great so then Vista really will be asking you stupid questions. "Are you sure you wish to execute this command?"
