All you are paying for is for the factory to test and certify that it will work as dual channel. Obviously if you are an IT dept this is important, to an average joe, maybe its not so important. You take you chances, maybe you win dual channel memory, maybe youjust get what you paid for, theres no downside unless having dual channel is critical, in which case pay for the certification.
