I've found the supportive enviroment here very useful while I've been learning C. Now I've got to learn some perl as part of my degree (who'd have thought it studying chemistry) does anyone know of a...
My work day starts at 8:45 and finishes at 5:00 and I don't think its too bad. At the moment I'm on a scholarship scheme with a paint company and I'm a paint chemist. My day can be boring if I do...
Yeah these guys are all right, the thermite is normally started with a strip of magnesium as the heat given off when it burns is nearly always hot enough to kick the reaction off. Thermite will melt...
By the way, watch out, powerderd aluminium might be a bit keen when it comes to reacting. Watch where you let sparks fly.
Reactions that produce powderd aluminum will be damm hard if not impossible to get as far as I know. I don't know the specific chemistry of it but just thinking about the thermodynamics of it....
What I mean is I couldn't think of a way it could learn about squares and block them without knowledge of what it'd be like a sqaures sequence.
Yep paint chemistry is one of the most boring things...
Hi, this is such a wierd topic I don't even know if its possible. I was thinking about writing a program in C to block a user input based on what has been put in before, you know for fun, like you do...

they did a huge graphics card roundup on there, you'll be able to see how your proposed graphics performs compared to almost every other card availible.
Personally I'd drop the processor to a 2500+ barton (they're really cheap nowadays) or even less ( a 2000+/2200+) and use that extra money to buy a different card. You can get some good deals cheap...
With a set of specs like that you really shouldn't be using on board graphics. I don't know exactly which is better but I know they're both relativly c**p compared to modern stuff. You wouldn't have...
I think the idea of a genetic algorithm problem solver sounds like a really good idea. Using "natural selection" you could have it solve some problem like exam timetable scheduling.
.pdf's are good for this

The answer they're looking for is either the equation E=hf or a written description of it.
edit:
h has the units J s and freq has the units s-1. Therefore E is measured in J, big suprise. It...
Tough firstly because I've no idea where to post this. I'm doing chemistry but as a drive to the "integrate computers into chemistry" ethos we've had to write a program in visual basic. I've no idea...
As my summer scholarship I worked as a paint chemist. We had to wear shirt, tie and pants. I couldn't think of anything more inappropriate. Do you paint in your posh stuff?
No, neither do I but I...
RoD-Whats yours and where is it?

I don't know what level of gravity difference would be tolerable to the human body but I can do a reasonable figure. Say a change of 1% over the length of a human body. For a change of only...
yes, imagine standing just off centre of a spinning roundabout. You have to hold on quite hard to stay still. Now if you walked 2 metres away on the same roundabout ( its a big roundabout ) you...
A fellow follower, nice. Remember the Greece game, perfect example of why football is great. Time is counting down, still need to score a goal. 93rd minute and we have a free kick. Beckham's been...
Football ( soccer to those of you in america ), you can't beat a good 35 yard strike that flys into the back of a net.
That in itself could cause a problem though. In order for the effective gravity you felt to be the reasonably similar throughout the entire length of your body the ship would have to be huge.
The title pretty much says it all. I seem to format my computer much more often than everyone I know, but that could just be me.
Its not because of problems with my computer I just like the clean...
You could always just boot from a startup disk and choose the option with cd-rom support. Then just put in any cd (windows official or a burnt version with the exe ) and copy it over/re-install.
