I think the most blame is on Microsoft who hasn't supported XHTML until IE8 now. And the timeframe between XHTML 1.0/1.1, IE6 and IE8... pretty wide.
From what I understand, HTML5 is just HTML4 2.0,...

XHTML should gain some more publicity once IE supports it.
The reason XHTML is not so widely used is due to Microsoft's IE can't handle it and serving XHTML in HTML defeats its purpose.

What are you talking about? IE7 already offers a solid support for CSS 2.1. Certainly it's not something to be completely proud of, but IE7 also made a huge step into CSS conformance. IE 8 is going...

It should definitely be possible to generate correct and flawless HTML code.
The best would of course be a compiler approach. You design your web page in the editor, then compile it and it generates...

Here's a funny remark, though:
Some teachers teach that the "computer" does something. So when the auto complete function in Excel, the "computer" is smart enough to figure out fill out with.
But...

I'm pretty much self taught. Have used one book about C++, I think, but the rest is experience writing, finding and asking about it.
Classes may not always be good, seeing as some teachers teach...
