Could someone please give me a good example of how pointers and arrays are used effectively in a game? I just don't get it.. it's hard to learn when you think something is pointless.

I'm learning c++ and plan to do openGL. Would it hurt to learn openGL at the sametime as c++ or should I focus on c++ until I've learned it all then start with openGL?

I'm having issues learning these pointers.. what would you use them for? I don't get it...

I know, I have no interest in my own language I was just curious what it took to create one.

But how would it work.. the way I see it is you need a language to make a program.. so what makes a language?
