Bid inquiry for tools to convert id DOOM wads from one format to another.

Our community of Atari Jaguar enthusiasts would like to look into getting some bids to have tools developed to convert DOOM or DOOM engine usable wads from the Jaguar format to PC to back again and vice versa.

Currently our community has to do this with a Hex editor and its slow, cumbersome and no one really wants to hassle with it. It appears most in our community are not good at tools programming of this sort and those who are just do not have the time.

Basically to run it down we need a program that will allow us to easily and as automatically as possible convert back and forth from PC DOOM compatible wads to Jaguar DOOM wad format and vice versa and also is aware and lets the user know when the converted wad is too big to fit into the available space. Then we can use whatever PC wad editor to create totally new wads for running on our system.

I will post here links to information on everything relevant.

    Atari Jaguar, what it is:
    https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_Jaguar

Here is a tutorial on everything known about the Atari Jaguar DOOM wad format:
Doom Level Hacking Tutorial - Atari Jaguar - AtariAge Forums

    Also the sources:
AtariAge - Jaguar DOOM Source Code

Though the emulation scene for our console is not great they will run DOOM for checking purposes.

    Virtual Jaguar

    Jagulator v2.0.2 - EmuCR

Project Tempest : The Jaguar Emulator

    Atari Jaguar SDK's
    The Crew's Website Downloads

This is the basic outline of needs on this. The details might change a bit but I will post those here for those interested. The only thing I think might change in detail is how intelligently the developed tool may deal with size issues of the wad being converted to Jaguar format. But will work on getting that looked into ASAP.

If there are any questions please let me know.

Thank you all for your time.

If you are doing the conversion by hand with a "hex editor" it is almost certainly fairly simple conversion process so I am compelled by my nature to ask: what is the process for this conversion?

You've asked for bids for a converter but not given any links to the target format. That's a mistake. No professional will give a bid without knowing more about what they are jumping into. If you want legit bids from people who can do the thing, post the formats or this "manual hex edit" process.

Im not sure but are you referring to the actual wads that can be accessed using the JagDoom ROM? If that is what you were inquiring about I did not link to it as I thought that posting links to ROMs would be strongly frowned upon. If you are referring to something else then let me know.

I believe the hand conversion process is outlined in the Doom level hacking tutorial I linked to above.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. We really appreciate it.

I'm sorry the information supplied is not quite complete. What is given is useful only for level editing. My understanding is more info is needed to be supplied on the Jaguar wad format to create a total conversion. Which is what our community is shooting for. We are gathering up this info as quickly as possible. I will post back here with it as soon as I can.
