C# Isometric MMORPG
I been developing games for about 10 years now. Mostly in Visual Basic though I just recently switched over to C#. I have finished a 2dorpg that you can find here: Key To Heaven - The Land of Marovia
Now I'm looking to make a isometric mmorpg. I have a small page setup with some general thoughts and some of the graphics Ive made for it here: Key To Heaven - The Land of Marovia
I'm currently working on a sourcecode and I will share more ideas if you contact me.
I'm looking for someone who wants to help me out with programming. I'm a very dedicated person and I think this is a lot of fun. But I can't make my 2nd game alone, it's way too time consuming. I will however do a lot of programming and all the graphics. I just need some help so if you are interested in making a mmorpg, and be a part of it. We can discuss this further.
You can also reach me on GTalk and Skype.
I think an MMORPG is a bit of a stretch for jumping into C#. However a 2D game is very possible in C# via XNA or via Direct3D using C++/CLI. Where are you getting the graphics from? The number one source of unfinished games is a lack of graphical talent and/or resources. Actual game code and underlying engine is not all that difficult for a 2D Iso game.
I'm going to make all the graphics myself, really looking forward to doing it in isometric view.
I dont expect my game to get 1000s of players, but I want it to minimum support around 250. And lidgrens library seems sufficient for that.
I dont make unfinished games, when I start something I will finish it. My last game took 5 years so I dont expect this new one to be finished anytime soon. But with some help it can be done faster.
Is the game really finished or are you just moving on to a new project?
Developers rarely set out to make an "unfinished" thing; they just move on.
Anyway, if you are really capable of doing decent graphic work and a little development as well you'll get more mileage if you seek out an indie group that you can help instead of finding a group to help you. Yes, I know; that would mean abandoning your own pet projects or at least not letting them be the focus of your time. However, it would mean that you'd still be working on a game with a team.
My game is finished :) And I made app. 300bucks on it ^^ 300/5years is a awesome salary.
I'm not looking to join other people. My next game will be a sequal to the game name title of my first game: Key To Heaven 2. I'm only looking for one maybe two people who would be interested in taking some load of the programming. And as a reward they would get to be the owners of a mmorpg, join the community as leaders and share possible income.
Well, that did answer my questions.
