C++ Programmer Needed

Hey guys,

i am compiling a team for a project and i thought this would be the relevant place to find a c++ programmer.

The project is a mod for valve's source engine. It is going to be a guerilla vs special forces mod, using ironsights a unique health system, weight class & wind direction. The hook is the quality of gameplay. We have 2 experienced mappers, a texture artist, and have just recruited a modeller.

This is a voluntary project, its not a job or anything, but if anyone wants to be the coder in our project we will be extremely grateful.

I have a spare gift copy of half life 2 deathmatch which will give you acces t the source sdk, so you will not have to buy a game to get a steam account for the sdk.

Any replys would be greatly apprecated.

I bought Left for Dead thinking they were going to release the SDK for it and never have. Is the Source SDK you have specifically for Half Life or is it for the Source engine in general?

L4D, on the way? Left 4 Dead Blog

If it's a mod I assume they are compiling client.dll, which the hl2.exe engine hooks. Customize the menu, models, GUI, maps, load resources, etc. Use the tools, hammer editor etc, to generate your resources, throw them in resource folder. Edit your config files, and shortcut icon. Just like Zombie Panic Source, Golden-Eye Source and other popular Source SDK Base mods. Though I don't see how they are HL specific (TF2, Portal, etc.) - maybe you meant HL map not mod (unless it's a HL server mod). Unless you meant having HL as a dependency of the Source SDK project (meaning they must own HL), which isn't necessary anymore (and considering the OPs HL2: DM comment, not the case). Last I checked all the cool kids were using/switching to Orange Box code/resources for their games/mods since it became compatible.

I never got further than opening up the generated project in Visual Studio and exiting a few minutes later.
