To the point, I was quite happily sitting at my desk doing some writing ( As I usually do in my spare time ) and I looked over my "Big Project" an idea I'm quite fond of and I thought it could be a pretty awesome game; also having Fallout tabbed in a window made me start piecing things together and I decided why the ........ not.I'll get to the idea in a minute; I've written up a short premise for people to read over. My expertise goes as far as 3D modelling and very basic concept art - yet I'm pretty sure being the charismatic guy I am, I'd have no trouble pushing such a project along.
As for pay, as of now I've got nothing - yet if a solid group formed and we were all serious I'm sure a kick-starter could be opened to provide whatever we needed.I'm looking for C++ coders, so if you have any expertise please feel free to post. I'd prefer it if you were UK based, but international guys/girls are welcome - obviously some form of communication is required, either through skype, steam, Xbox Live or FaceBook ( Once I've decided who's going to be awesome, ofcourse ) to talk and communicate ideas.
The premise:
With Earth beaten and crumbling, the last remenants of humanity struggle to cling to life. Fighting against an extraterrestial threat and against the even more dangerous enemy, Mother Nature herself, the survivors must not only avoid detection and capture by the invading force, but also cling to life in this harsh, almost alein landscape.
Where once large cities stood, now only the skeletal remains are to be found, picked clean by fires, looters and survivors - the streets a dangerous arena of radiation, bandits and the all too clear threat of the alien invaders, constantly searching for the last remains of humanities kind.
The premise of this game is a 2D/3D isometric, turn-based, tactical survival game. Where combat is to be avoided and used as a last resort. Weapons and ammunition are scarce and food even more so. The vast expanses of ruined and destroyed cities and lands around them provide a breif respite from the dangers of combat, but bring another aspect of survival into play - food and water. Surviving in this bleak land-scape is another challenge all-together.
Players can attempt to convince stragglers to band together, providing saftey in numbers but also increasing the consumption of resources. Trust will also play a huge factor between the players and NPCs. A plague spreads over the land, released by the new overlords turning humans into mindless contraptions of violence, with a single bite or scratch being able to transfer the plague and a long incubation time; are the survivors trust worthy?
The unimaginable stretches of empty land will require players to plan journies and gather resources first. An emigration from one city to the next, possibly to a hinted safe-zone could require days of gathering and searching through the danger filled cities to provide all the resources required.
Ofcourse there are more ideas floating about in my head for this, but I'd rather not put everything out there until I have a set team.
So if anyone is interested, let me know and we'll have a word!
