    Beginner questions

I'm looking at following the book list here: Book Reviews - C and C++ Books and References - Cprogramming.com Algebra was my last math class, which was years ago. How far might I get down the list before needing to further my math education? What math background would be desirable for someone looking to become proficient at programming?

Have any of you followed the above mentioned book list? I'm curious to know how that has been working out for you, especially anyone who started on the list as a beginner.

I'm particularly interested in programming for music applications and microcontrollers for use in music applications. Any words of wisdom that you can share?

I think you shouldn't be worried. Seems a good list to me.
