Is the book "Teach yourself C++ in 21 days" by Sams any good?
Its ok to start with but you do know that it is available as a FREE e-book somewhere. The link has been posted several times on these boards so a search should throw it up. If you have money to spend on a book to learn c++ from then for starting I personally would get C++ How to program by Deitel and Deitel. This gives a reasonable overview of most of the languages features. When you have worked through that then a much more in depth text would be The c++ programming language by Bjarne Stroustrup.
