widgets in fedora7

i would like to do widgets( like yahoo widgets) in linux
in perticular distros...

fedora6,7,8
suse10.3
pclinuxos2007

is it possible?
is there any previous widgets made for fedora7
can you please give an example for widgets.
at present am in fedora7 gnome desktop.

please give me instuction step by step.

coz, am new to widgets..
i have knowlde in gtk c gui using glade.

is there any free source for widgets.

yahoo widgets are javascript code for websites.

there are ton of widget sets available already, for most languages. Why put out the effort to write another one instead of improving an existing one?
