Hello
I want to have the user ID and group ID in a string format.
I fond the getuid() and getgid() system call, but the return type are uid_t and gid_t.
Those type are number. How can I get the string format for the user ID and group ID.

Moved to a more appropriate forum.
User and group ID are numbers. What getpwent returns are user and group name.
Oh, something simple like sprintf() then perhaps?
Depends on what the OP actually means by "string format".
I would guess that Salem got it right, the text names for the uid and gid returned by getpwent
