Blue
Someone kill me if I ever have to hear that song again. Thanks.
[very bad singing voice]I'm blue dabadee dabada[/very bad singing voice]
oh Sorry SilentStrike :p
I thought the clip was nice, all those little blue creatures
Daft Punk roxx! :)
I can't stand the original "Blue". Horrible. I've heard it sooooo many times the year it came out. But: take your prefered tool to legally aquire mp3s ( ) and look for "Audiosmog featuring Tobias Schlegel - Blue". It's a cover version. It rocks.
Eiffel 65? Talk about some crap popno (it ain't real techno!). da, Daft Punk are so much better!! Why lower your self to listen to that trash?
hey man, i'm a musician! relax... what do you think characterizes it as pop then? why i oughta.......hear your explaination!!! :)
and the clips were fun! :)
I liked 'em. I've only heard two of their songs,Quote:

though. Blue, and another one of their singles.
Anyway, they were POP because they were POPular.
POP culture changes every two years, anyway. It's
a pretty stupid genre, I think. Nirvana was even
considered POP, way back when.
i enjoy it since i can relate to it, and since it's mip-induced, and musically it's quality music... etc...
My wife likes them...
I am a rock fan... with some real techno and industrial.
Pop - repetitive music and (quite often) meaningless lyrics.Quote:

About the clips, as far as I'm concerned, MTV is what has ruined music.
>>and musically it's quality music... etc...<<
Eiffel 65 != quality music
are you a musician? are you studying theory? you might be a hell of a listener and have your opinion, but you cannot describe a group as repetitive until you've analyzed their work, which i would find hard to believe since you have such generalized opinions about 'mtv' and your scoffing.
Remember when MTV used to be great? Remember
Beavis and/or Butthead? I used to like MTV, back
in the days when bands weren't put together by
the music industry (you know, that short period
between about 1990 - 1996).
Now they got Carson-freakin'-Daley. I hate that
guy. I hate is stupid fingernail polish, I hate
his dumb sticky-hair, and his show is terrible.
The whole audience is filled with 13 year old
girls who think he's 'cute.'
I hate the music that gets played on MTV, too.
Eminem, Mariah Carey (she used to be so sweet,
now she's icky), Destiny's Child, Limp Bizkit
etc. Oh, and I hate how all the rock-bands wear
Leather Pants. They're too shiny.
Sometimes I wished I ruled the world. Eh, at
least I get comfort in knowing that it will
eventually happen.
seems to me like you were given a good idea of what is righteous then... might you wish you had the simple pleasures of children who weren't yet involved in the relatively unshiny world of our [american] capitalistic society? i for one feel to embrace my and our youth to it's full extent, to thynk only when we might need to, else just relax the while and share... the more we share the more we have...
you give a mouse a cookie...... what milk do you have?
Yes as a matter of fact I am. I have been playing the guitar for around 2 and half years. And of course I am a hell of a listener. My "generalised opinions" come from the fact I know decent music when I hear it. I don't write off bands until I hear them. I have heard Eiffel 65 and I don't think they are that great. I'm sorry, but I don't.Quote:

My MTV scoffing as you put it, comes from the fact that it is complete ****ing bull****. It is commercial music pure and simple. The majority of bands/groups can't write a note of music, and it's all about some pre-fabricated image to suck you in and get your hard earned cash. None of it is real, it doesn't make you think, and it doesn't add anything to music.
To quote Bono from U2

'Pop music often tells you everything is OK, while rock music tells you that it's not OK, but you can change it. There's a defiance in rock music that gives you a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Most pop music doesn't make you want to get out of bed, I'm sorry to say. It puts you to sleep.'
You are talking ****. So if we all just submit then we'll all get along fine? You are starting to act like a sheep.
LoL...I like techno...But eiffel 65 is NOT techno...
it is euro-pop.
It is like candyland music. (my own term) I do not think that it has the undertones or overtones of great music. It may make you dance, but it doesn't enlighten.
Then again... my wife thinks dancing, smiling, and having fun is the most important thing in life. (she very well may be right)
To each their own...
I would be interested in knowing how many people that don't like them have smoked weed at one time or another. Music appreciation seems to change after that... for some strange reason.

Well I think if it makes you happy then by all means listen to it. You'll eventually realise there is greater music out there than Daft Punk and Eiffel 65 though. Sorry for sounding like a cranky-pants.Quote:

sheep not! it's is perfectly possible to be anyone you want... do you think i'm a sheep? i don't listen to any radio, really... i bothered to dl some mp3s and i enjoy them, just that! hear no evil here...
>Sorry for sounding like a cranky-pants.
who's to say we don't? the simplest pleasures are the best... have you read their lyrics? i think maybe you'd disagree... 'candyland' music makes you think... if you hear it and recognize it, figure out where it came from...
>I know decent music when I hear it.
well we shouldn't be arguing then...
i'm a pacifist, i enjoy simple pleasures and make things as fun as i can, i'm sure you'd do the same if you wanted to... or anyone did... if we'd like to get this further down, let's do it... you already know it doesn't matter... so it's up to us... we're both musicians, we should be on the same side...
>So if we all just submit
just do it if you can, don't worry... seems to me like if we spend all of our time worrying about the future, we'd miss the present... i'm sure you'd agree...
but enough rambling... there's programming to attend to! :)
>>we're both musicians, we should be on the same side... <<
We should, shouldn't we?
okay fine. let's hold icecream hands and be friends... :) ::extends icecream hand [vanilla too!]::
