IPX problem
I'm having a problem with IPX working in lan games on my 1 year old laptop. I can't seem to see any games that are being hosted on the lan or if i host no one can see my game. I tried using directx diagnostic to test direct play and the same thing happends the room can not be seen on my laptop. TCP/IP seems to work fine. I'm thinking if i reinstall directx that might fix it but i can't seem to find a way to do that. I've already tried reinstalling the protocol. What do you think is wrong?

I think IPX is old an outdated so it doesn't surprise me that you are having problems.

I've been having other network problems with this laptop to like windows network places not showing up. I still use ipx for older lan games like aoe2 and ra2 and i think some other stuff in windows might relay on ipx too or i guess it could just be some other messed up network system files. But anyone have an idea what could be wrong or what to try?
btw. I have winXP Home with SP2 on this laptop.

I've had problems with IPX/SPX too - never had much luck with it, ever, other than on rare occasions on my older computers. And yes, I do have problems with computers not showing up on the network with my new laptop too ;) In particular, nobody can see my laptop on the network, but my laptop can see everyone else. :)
