How do I get my roomates to stop turning the A/C down to 70 Degrees F. everynight. Nothing I do seems to work, I almost want to put one of those locks over the thermostat. Any ideas?

Learn how to sleep with your eyes open and sitting in a chair. Then just sit/sleep in front of the thermostat all night with a shotgun in your lap.
Have a false thermostat panel that does nothing when you change its settings.
Is it a matter of the cost or you can't sleep when it's too cold? If it's the former you could just have them pay a higher share for the electricity bill. If the latter...

Then, use that article to set up a system on your PC to check the temperature is > 70 degrees, otherwise beep very very very loudly. Perhaps output to a fire alarm.

because I wake up at 3am shivering, their rational is "we want it cold because were not going over our electricity cap so we might as well use it"
but its unbarably cold, and they are irrational.

Yes. Our thermostat is set somewhere around 76F, and I still use a blanket most of the day.Quote:
