So we got some pretty interesting usernames around here - anyone care to share the stories behind their usernames? I think mine is pretty self explanatory, but I've been wandering about govtcheez for a loong time (you too, quzah).

There's not a story there. I don't remember why I picked this name :(
Aw shucks...
I think I made up a story for it last time a thread like this happened.
Fancy...
Well, my first two initials are PJ and I yell a ton. Or maybe its because my last name is Yelton. Dangit, I can never remember which...
Mine is the beginning of my last name... don't know why I use that, but I do. My full last name is Oberholzer.
Mine comes from a game called sacrifice.
Mine comes from the guy i want to run for 2008
Govtcheez's name originates from the "Government Cheese" they used to serve in the cafeteria when he was a patient at Byberry Mental Hospital. It was his one true love, but the full name of the epic cheese was too long to fit into the username box on the original boards so he shortened it to govtcheez.
When he's like 157?Quote:

It doesnt have any real meaning. I forget who told me it stood for "Rides only Dudes", but im pretty sure it was "bobdole" over there LOL. For the record, it doesnt stand for that.

only THE greatest guitar player to have ever played. He currently has ALS (or Lou Gehrig's disease) and cant move a muscle in his body. As his body was being taken over by this disease he recorded/composed one last amazing album.... Perspective.

I was taking some psychology course and had to write a paper on neural networks - hence axon; not a very interesting story....
If you can't figure it out from the picture and name, you need to be taken outside, beaten relentlessly for an hour, then shot exactly 22 times.
STARCRAFT: BROOD WARS. THE BEST GAME TO HAVE BEEN MADE AND EVER TO BE MADE.
Starcraft sucks.
your name has two meanings
>>Starcraft sucks.<<
no it doesn't. I wouldn't call it "THE BEST GAME TO HAVE BEEN MADE AND EVER TO BE MADE.", but it is certainly in my top 15
My name came about from the common use of the word webmaster to refer to one who runs a site.
Yup SC (not splinter cell!) is a great game, and I'm still waiting for SC 2!
My name is the first two letters of my first name, the first two of my middle name, and the first of my last name. But I don't feel like giving out my real name, so I'll let you speculate :)

my name's kinda easy to figure out, I actually got the name from my dad when he was signing up for a C&C account (another really good strategy series) and his name was rverkoey, so we figured it would be fitting if mine was jverkoey.

I hear he's 9 feet tall and shoots lightning bolts out his ass.
You don't have to be so disrespectful about his "condition"...
Stories behind our names?
What are you talking about? My parents named me this!
Well, my story is simple and short.
I ran into alot of these in my early years of programming.

I'm sure no one will ever guess the story behind mine! :p :D
I suppose not, Mr. Zachery L. ;)Quote:

Ever seen Red Dwarf? It's got Talkie the Toaster (my avatar). "You know, I've been thinking -- maybe there's more to life than just heating bread." :) Talkie is awesome.

My name is Adrian. Back in about 1977 the colleges computer system asked me to enter my initials. I don't have a middle name so entered AW - it burped and said, no, include your middle initial. It would not let me go further without putting a middle initial in, so on a whim, I entered X for the unknown.
I have been known as AXW or adrianxw ever since.
That's pretty cool, adrian. I had no idea.
I was spending a lot of my time blacksmithing and restoring steam engines. Now I'm back in school studying computer science.
self explanitory
When I was 12 my brother gave me a press to imprint my name on the golf balls we used so we could tell which was his and which were mine. Needless to say, the intial result wasn't what I intended, but I've used it ever since when I didn't want to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
i literally had a habit of mashing my hands on the keyboard when angry. when i was told to start using services such as AIM and ICQ, i wads forced to pick a name. so i smashed the keyboard, addes some vowels, maybe a consonant or two and came up with somehting stupid. then i thought of neandrake. like, the slow dudes behind the cromags, and i like dragons
My name is brian my brother used to call me bman and I am a loser with no imagination so i figured I was on a programing board so I shortened programming to prog added a neat dash and my old childhood nick name and bo ya the coolest name in the world.
You'd be nothing without that dash. ;)
I kinda look like 'the brain' from "pinky and the brain"... from the popular cartoon 'animaniacs'. my head is twice the size of my body. I am going to take over the world as soon as I learn c++ (this might take awhile) right now I am just having problems finding someone to run Canada for me.
This screen name identity and what it posts is a fuzzy duplicate of me in real life. :D
I was Devastator in Duke Nukem 3D, then since everyone else had the same name I figured Hunter would be cool.. but since everyone also had that, I figured I would be unique and choose the number 2 as my FIRST CHOICE, so I'm Hunter2. Since people without imagination keep choosing that when they can't get Hunter though, I'm also seen as HunterGuy2 and HunterGuy_2 and all variants thereof.
Hi,
my name is N. Voigt and I'm totally unimaginative when it comes to picking nicknames :D
Mine came from something I wrotte when I was 16... I've been using it everywhere since.
Itīs fun because I get people thinking I'm a woman all the time on mirc and such, and I can see why they dislike men :p
