UPS (Uninteruptible Power Supply) Service Won't Start!

I have an APC Power Supply strip. I've never had this problem until a few days ago, but my computer just turned off out of nowhere. I thought I had a trojan, and scanned with 4 different progs, nothing.

Then I thought that it was odd it shut off during other times, mostly hibernation. So I went to run, typed in services.msc, and checked UPS. It said it turned on automatic, but was turned off.

I got this error:


Could not start the Uninteruptible Power Supply service on Local Computer.
Error 2481: The UPS service is not configured correctly.

It's installed, and has always worked before. The program that came with it says its fine. Any ideas? Thanks

I assume your running windows, have you done any Windows updates that may have broke the app? Did you try reinstalling the software? Did you go to the manufacturers website to check for updates and or more info.?

Did you check to see if the battery on the UPS is good?

well, my comp isnt shutting down randomly anymore, but that might be because I cranked up the number when the battery turns on. The battery is good, and what I find is funny, is that the APC UPS Service is running, but the built in UPS service is not. Maybe the APC version is the only one supposed to run. I re-installed too, so that could be it. Thanks all
