Who's Winning The World Series?
Cubbies, they've been on fire lately.
The Cubs Have Just Won Game 4.
This probably gets asked alot, but why's it called the world series when its just american?

It certainly has been an exciting week for us here in Chicago. I've been saying this is the year for as long as I can remember. Well, this time I was right!
Too bad I only had tickets to game one :(
Sure does. Next question.Quote:

I just finished watching game 6 of the Cubs.... I think I'm going to throw up :(
OMFG OMFG >_<
OMFG!
Everyone in Chicago needs to kick the !*%#@% out of those people who grabbed the foul ball out of the third basemans mitt.
Damn curse of the billy goat... :(
hahahahaha :DQuote:
To add to the hurt, the fan who blocked Alou's path on Luis Castillo's ball was wearing a Cubs hat. Once the rally got in full swing, fans around the man, who looked to be in his early 20s, starting hurling beers in his direction and he was escorted out by security with a jacket over his face.
I'm still in shock.
On a lighter note, the crowd nearly killed that guy when security was escorting him back to the office. He had to be taken out of there in a police car hours after the game ended, and today he is most certainly the most hated person in Chicago for doing something almost everyone would have done in his position. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
That was pretty ..........ty of the fans to do. The ball was over the stands. Even though Alou probably could have caught it, wouldn't you jump at the chance to catch a playoff foul?Quote:

It's not like it's that little turd from the Baltimore-NYY game a few years ago.
The crowd reaction was funny. I do feel bad for the guy though :) Scapegoat.
That's exactly my point, most people would have reached for it, but any true Cubs fan would have followed Wrigley tradition and thrown it back.Quote:

that's on home runs not foul balls.
I do feel bad for him. But for his sake, the Cubs had better win tonight otherwise he stands a good chance of getting killed, no joke either.
OK anyone who blames the loss on that fan is an a-hole and needs a scapegoat badly. He did nothing wrong, he just got cought up in the excitment of the game. He did one legal thing. He did NOT cause the Marlins to get 8 points that inning. He did one thing, not 8 points worth though.
Yeah at most ballparks, not Wrigley.Quote:

Well what can ya say, simply heartbreaking. What a series that was though. It was really great baseball, and the better team on this night won. There is always next year though.
Yes... next year! ;)
Of course if it comes down to the Marlins and Yankees, I'm not even going to bother watching.
GOAT
GOAT
GOAT
It just ticks me off, if the Cubs had won, Chicago fans would be remembering this year for decades. If Florida wins the series, Marlin fans (if there really is such a thing) would remember it for like a day.
If its Yankees vs Marlins I'm done watching baseball forever. Go BOSOX!!!!!
no seriously. the tradition would cause serious problems if it was on foul balls too. The throwing balls back in thing is a gesture of disgust that the other team hit a home run.Quote:

I understand what you mean, I'm just saying I go to 30+ games a year and I see foul balls thrown back all the time. If you watched the game in question, one of the first things the anouncers said after the guy tried to catch the ball was why did he do that, it's not like he was going to keep it (something along those lines).Quote:

It is pretty silly though, it's much more of a statement when it's a homerun, and if I ever catch a foul ball (20+ years of going to games across the nation and I have never came close) i'm keeping it!
I got a ball that Javy Lopez threw to my wife. I want to kick his ***.
