Nope, because I don't use IE. I use Opera.
no, I haven't really seen that happen. It could be your mouse driver.
ps: Have you ever noticed how proud some people are when they use something other than microsoft? You would think they invented the thing, or that use of linux/opera/star office somehow makes them a quality individual.
I 'm just stating that that bug isn't implemented in Opera.
it most certainly would be if it is a mouse driver problem. It would show up in all mousewheel sensitive apps.
Anyhow, it was just an observation. Not a criticism
Every once in a while yes.
Mostly when im doing a lot of quick multitasking for awhile.
No but apparently one of my keyboard buttons stick (I think its ctrl) so that occasionally I will scroll and actually change the text size
Absolutely!Quote:

Thank you FillYourBrain, at least some people don't hate IE.
Why is it that everytime I talk about a problem an agrue always comes up about IE vs X browser. I think it's a curse.
BTW, where would I get new mouse drivers?
Well I use IE and a MS wireless optical mouse blue.
I had noticed it slightly moved the opp way, but I realised it is the way you reach for the button. Kinda like the way you apply the pressure to the wheel. Very very sensitive this little bugger.
Could be that, especially if you have it set to scroll 3 lines at once.
:)
Edit, Oh and it happens in all software not just IE-so dont blame that.
You ever notice how Microserfs never give up? Even after three very bad worms in as many weeks.Quote:

I've never had thatproblem, but quite often my mouse cursor will slide sideways for no reason.
Can't say I've noticed that one.Quote:

I get that on my work PC occasionally. :(Quote:

Yeah, it's like someone complains about a minor problem, and their only solution is to change to another product  I'm not getting at you XSquared, it's just a general comment of how IE problem related threads go on these forums.Quote:

That happens with me when I lag. Lagging just MIGHT be the problem with mine thouhg;)
sometimes when im not touching the mouse the cursor will start to vibrate. scrolling is ok though.
>>> Even after three very bad worms in as many weeks.
Any system that is popular will attract more attention because virus writers have a greater chance of spreading their filth. What's the point of writing a worm that attacks only "sdhfg" mail software running on "sgdasfd" when only "2356" in the world use it?
And, no, I've never noticed my mouse wheel behave in that way.
>>> sometimes when im not touching the mouse the cursor will start to vibrate
Now, that, I have seen. It actually started doing that about 4 weeks ago. Sometimes it actually moves, (mostly horizontally), quite suddenly, about 10% across the screen then "vibrates".
Oh wow I just "discovered" this: in IE, if you hold down shift and use the mouse wheel, it goes back/forwards! (backspace is also one).
Holding down ctrl will change the text size. And no, I have never seen that wheel problem. Must be your drivers. Well I have seen it, not with IE though. With (sighs) wordperfect at school...
Total aside, does anyone use the "click the wheel" then mouse up/down to scroll?
I do, when the page is REALLY big and I'm too lazy to move my hand to the page down :D

Sometimes, if it's a long page and I want something near the bottom.Quote:

of course the end key does that much better. I kinda prefer keyboard shortcuts still. Stupid middle button shortcuts always felt strange to me.
I know, but sometimes I'm lazy and don't feel like moving that much.Quote:

wouldn't the end key take you to the end of the line, wouldn't page up and page down be more usefull for scrolling then the end key?
God I'm bored
No, in IE, if you're not filling out a form, end takes you to the bottom of the page.
i changed the wheel click button to minimize the active window. Its really handy.Quote:

i always just grab the scroll bar and yank it down to the bottom.
I do all the time when I read through long stuff. Like when I read tabs I will set it up so it goes down at the right speed of the playing and I can just leave it and play. I also use it when I'm reading this forumQuote:

that's funny. You would be surprised how many keystrokes there are for IE. for instance, does anyone use alt- left arrow and alt- right arrow to go forward and back? I use that all the time.
I should be able to use my mouse buttons for that, (theres two extras on the side) but it only worked for the first day I had the mouse...
I love those mouse buttons. I also have it on my keyboard.
I used to use teh ALT arrow stuff before this keyboard. No idea why.
It also works with Netscape, but since I got relocated, I have a German keyboard and I do not have an Alt button on the right side of the keyboard (atleast I have not found it, adrianxw would you know how it is labeled?) only on the left side so I cannot go back and forward with the keyboard with one hand.Quote:

go to the website of the company that made your mouse like if some company is gay and called themself 4legs then goto 4legs.com and such, most cases <company name>.com is the best place to start looking then go on to google.com of courseQuote:

What if you get tabs for a song thats too long for the screen? Then you have to stop shredding and move the page down. I do it so I can practice timing and flow while I do it. My computer is packed with tabs and songs though. I have a couple folders with a bunch of songs tabbed out on Guitar Pro and reg. tabs on my desktop.
