clueless professiors
checking out the latest, in which I truly admire our programmers. Thanks to the board I am actually understanding c++;
This is my first program language, my professior is cool. But he teaches through words and reading. No projector, no board, etc;
Im still using basic functions <stdio.h> & <math.h>. I get frustrated and punch the walls at times. But it's cool. Thanks to the c Board;

Reading a good book as well as going along with your school studies may help
-
yes, books are your friend.
my teacher doesn't really use the board much, a bit here and there, but not as a usual class would.

I'm currently taking my first c++ class as well, but my professor on the other hand is great! he uses a pc display (and what display it is, thanks to UIC) at all times. We also you a very good book, in my opinion. It is by Walter Savitch, entitled Absolute C++.
The language is very simple, and the text is well written. The material really floats from subject to subject. There are, however, points that don't get a lot of elaboration...the switch statement gets only half a page!
have fun,

lol, mine is 'here's a book, read it, do the exercises, take the quiz, have fun'.

Not to be a "wet blanket" here, folks, but this discussion might better be conducted on the General Discussion Board. ;)

My teacher teaches very well imo. She teaches you, asks you to do an exercise, and is there to help you if you need it. She uses the board a bit here and there, uses the comp to display stuff a few times. But mostly, she walks us through new topics, and makes sure we understand them. Then we apply them to the case study.
I agree with Perspective. It just depends on the teacher.
