The orange represents nature. A clockwork orange represents a human driven out of his true nature. Oh, and the book is way better...
I remember my grandmother trying to take my sister and me to the film when it was just released.
She thought with a title like Clockwork Orange it must be a kiddies film.
I think the title also has to do with the slang 'to wind up' (excite).
heh - "Suprise Grandma!".
In the book the author who they beat the **** out of and whose wife they rape is writing a book called "A Clockwork Orange".
true - a recursive motif throughout the film.
also the 'droogs' are a breakaway from society and authorty, clockwork is representative of the society.
I don't agree with you. Back a few years ago, at highschool, we had to read the book, and then see the movie.Quote:

I really liked the book. And I really liked the movie.
I don't think there are too many movies that will follow the original book that well. Obviously, you can have more details in the book (at least original details). But, on the other hand, in the movie you can literally listen to the same music the droogs are listening to.
I would say that the movie and the book compliment each other. If I had to choose one of them, I'd go for the book. But, I'd recomend both of them. First read the book, then see the movie so that you can understand it much better, and therefor you can enjoy it more.
