speeding ticket
Who here has had a speeding ticket?
I was going to school one day and was less then 1,000 yards from the line edge of the town and a cop nailed me for 79mph. He was like, "I have to be fair to everybody because 79 is a *little* too fast". Grr, I've met an amazing number of cops on this road that saw me and caught me red-handed going 70mph and they didn't do anything. These were cops with the decked out cars with lights and sirens and such. The one that caught me was driving a more so normal car that just had dashboard lights. 65-70 is fine on the 2 roads I travel to school, but, 79 apparently isn't. I was being dumb anyways and got caught for it so the acceptable speed for this road doesn't matter. I was going 95 before hand and slowed down to 80 coming around a corner, and he caught me doing 79.
Anyways, I have a $180 fine to pay before December 10th or something and I'm going to go to court to appeal to the judge to get the fine cut in half.

I got one a few weeks ago for doing 66 in a 45. I was just trying to pass someone who was driving around 35 and i got in the other lane and sped up and went around a corner and cop got me. First ticket for me in 5 3/4 years of driving.

I got pulled over for 37 in a 25, but didn't get a ticket. I pulled up to a stop sign, looked right and noticed the cop sitting there (he was just parked on grass between a parking lot and the road). I turned left, and thought to myself "Cool, he didn't get me for a rolling stop or anything", and took off. I didn't even think about how fast I was going.
That's the only time in 5 years of driving I've been pulled over.

I got one almost a year ago. I was doing 88km/h in a 50km/h zone. And then I saw the bright flash :( And in Belgium, you lose you're license for two weeks if you drive 30km/h faster then allowd. Lucky for me they always substract 10km/h as a callibration fault. So on paper I was driving 78. thank God for those 2km/h
And the Irony is that I was driving someone hom who had lost his licence for speeding.
But I'm not proud of it. Since then, I have adapted my drivingstyle, and now I hardy ever go over the speed limit. It turned me into nice boy :D

Never been stoped for a traffic violation. Got yelled at by a tower once.

> That's the only time in 5 years of driving I've been pulled over.
I speed, that's just me. But, in almost 2 years of speeding I haven't been pulled over. I watch what I do and where I do it.
I got caught, because I was being silly/messing around and knew it. I didn't care really at that moment in time.

No tickets, warnings or anything for me.
Ask me the number of times I've driven over 100mph and I wouldn't be able to give you a solid answer/number.
Hm, so far everybody is a pretty good driver here, except maybe Govtcheez who likes to scare pedestrians. I know Hammer's a crazy nut. :D

i have never got a speeding ticket, but one time i got pulled over for going the wrong way on a one way street...no ticket though, just a warning it was some college campus cop...a real prick, but yeah, he let me go
i know i know, im a tard

I've gotten a few tickets, none in the last ten/twelve years or so. I was guilty on most of 'em, although one was for driving with a studded tire which I don't believe the cop could've seen at 35 mph from several hundred feet away. It was a ritzy suburb and I was driving a chicken wire Gremlin. I'd've been pulled over anyway.
Another time I got a ticket for hitting another car from behind, even though the other car swerved in front of me and stopped to turn left. That's the "hit 'em from behind and you're guilty no matter what" rule.
But I drive a lot more carefully now. I once spun out on a freeway, not speeding, after hitting a patch of black ice. Three 360's over all lanes and ending in the median cured me of speeding.
But you know what's really annoying? Slow drivers. Not a few miles under the limit. Good weather, fine roads, yada yada, driving 10 - 30 miles under the limit. Where I live, hilly and winding roads that go for 30 miles, there's not always many spots to pass. And when there is, these jerks often speed up just enough to prevent passing. I wonder how many accidents/tickets result from frustrated drivers trying to pass these morons.

And another thing! How about the fools at crossroads who turn left into your lane while you're going 55 and are about 100 feet from the intersection?
Don't get me started on snowmobilers! [/Vent]

> Three 360's over all lanes and ending in the median cured me of speeding.
I've done similar, but, it didn't yield the same results, I still drive fast. :D
> Good weather, fine roads, yada yada
That's when I do it too.

Never had anything for anything driving related. Though I was in the passenger seat when my mate got busted drunk driving. Getting in the car with him on that night was definitely one of the lesser intelligent decisions I ever made. Thankfully we had only gone about a mile when the cops pulled us, good on them, job well done!!

Hey Shadow.... sorry to hear your bad news :( Still, never mind, it's only money, eh ;) :D
>>I was going 95 before hand
heh heh, that's my boy :)
>>I know Hammer's a crazy nut.
Well, I *used* be.... nowadays I'm just a nut. or is it just crazy? I dunno
>But you know what's really annoying? Slow drivers.
I HATE slow drivers, goddammit. And they always get in the way when I'm late for work or somthing. I think must know I'm coming and decide to go even slower.
>>my mate got busted drunk driving.
I did the drink/drive thing once, but on a motor bike. Never again. When I woke up next morning and thought about it, I realised what a complete idiotic thing it was to have done.... and now the most I have to drink before driving is one pint.

the fastest i've gotten pulled over for was 125 in a 55. But i knew the cop and it was like 4 in the afternoon and there was NOBODY around. So we sat and talked for a while and he told me that he didn't want it to happen again...he said that pretty much i should stay under 80 if there's anyone on the road. Anyhow i'm still ticket free and glad, insurance for me is like 700 every 6 months as it is.

> the fastest i've gotten pulled over for was 125 in a 55.
Wow, usually anything over 100 in a 55mph zone is a license revoking(taken away). Of course, I guess not maybe. License revoking might be because you're pushing it far too fast. I got caught for 79 in a 55, and he seemed to be on the borderline of givnig a ticket out. "I do have to issue a citation to be fair to everybody because that was a *little* too fast"
> insurance for me is like 700 every 6 months as it is.
That's nothing.

Heh... I've had 5. Had my licence revoked for a few months some years back. Somewhere around $3000 in total. ... You'd think I would've learned...
>the fastest i've gotten pulled over for was 125 in a 55.
180 in an 80.

>>180 in an 80
