CD Recording error
while ( CdNotWorkingForUknownReason() == TRUE )
Loop the above for eternity!
Man..
Ok, I installed a DVD rom into my computer, and I've had a cd recording drive in my computer for some time now. I have the cd recording as the master on the secondary IDE ribbon cable and the DVD drive as the slave on the secondary IDE ribbon cable. I SWORE I got it to record an mp3 cd in this configuartion. All of the sudden it just stopped working and I am completely missing why! I'm lost. I've restarted my computer umpteen times swapping IDE cords and master/slave settings EVEN going as far as running the cd recorder drive ALONE as the primary cd rom device (D: drive). In the current configuarion the cd writer is D: and the DVD is E:. I also, for extra measure, tried multiple cd's. Still nothing. I will attach both of the error messages I am receiving from my cd recording software and would GREATLY appreciate any input what-so-ever.

2nd error message
Here's the other one.

Oh, and I would also like to add that I can play videos off this drive, install software, and all the normal things. However, actually writting information with this drive seems to be giving me trouble.
-
Your original configuration is proper. That's what you should
stick to. Try recording at 2x. If that doesn't work, try different
software. I never use EZ CD Creator, as I've had many problems
with it in the past. CDR-Win by Golden Hawk Technologies is
one of the best recording programs out there. Fireburner is
ok. Nero sucks, and I've found that NTI CD Maker Pro is an
excellent program for burning data cd's.
If I were you, I'd attempt all my burns using CR-RW media.
If your cdr isn't cdrw, then I'd suggest you go buy one. They're
no longer prohibitivly expensive.

"the parimeter(sp) is incorrect"
1) Try hard to find newer drivers
2) Assign a drive letter above f manually.
3) Try in another pc.
Its telling you the drive letter assigned to the drive is incorrect with what it wants/thinks it is. Also try something like NERO or re-install cd creator.
My suggestion is to try those three things, if that fails, return/echange that drive.

I'll get back to you guys on this problem shortly, I'm sure it's something simple because I swore I burnt an mp3 audio cd and mpg video cd before it started messing up, and strangely enough, I think it started messing up after we got broadband.
For right now though, my homework is more important.
More later..

I use an OFFICIAL NERO version. Tip top I can tell you. I have never had a ruined disc.
CD/RW? Yeh right, they are cheap now (
 )

I second the Nero pride, i found it uses the least system resources and doesnt cause buffer problems. EZ CD Creator is defianately a horrible program and thats probably your problem. :p

> EZ CD Creator is defianately a horrible program and thats probably your problem.
Yes, that was my problem.
I got Nero, and that solved everything.
-
-
no your not! :P
i was the first to suggest nero in a positive manner thank you...
yea i'm done.
-
were both good, but i also know that nero is good and ez cd creator sux, ever since ez cd creator didnt have a working version for XP(i had XP a lil bit before others-MBT) so you are good, i am good, EZ CD Creator isnt good
-
Agreed lol.
Ya know, i never (on xp) had a problem with Roxio 5....and if i'm not mistaken thats a version of EZ-CD C right?
-
Im talking about roxio 4, XP comes up with a bunch of errors, and its almost imposible to get rid of them because it screws with XPs internal burning service

> XP comes up with a bunch of errors
I guess you're right..
