I am planing to purchase the SAGEM Dual mode DECT phone.. which operates both as a cordless (300 meters outdoors) and a mobile when outside the cordless range... does anyone have this instrument or any experience with it which i should know....

Sounds promising, but I have never used anything like it.
I have utilize land mobile radios (Motorola) that operate in a broadcast fashion to other LMR users and can also use the local site's hardwire telcom line.
Similar in fashion, but not a "cell" based technology.
