I need a quick tutorial on how to use DirectX for games, step by step.. starting from scratch.. For now, all I want is to try and create a simple 'Main Menu' using DX.
Thanks :)

How many tutorials do you ask for on how many different things? I know it is tuff starting out, but try looking yourself, have you even checked out any of the sites people have recommended to you? If you had, I do not think you would still be asking this same question.
Maybe you should check out the faq, there's some links on there.
I'm gonna have to agree with the other guys Ruski...spend more time reading than you do talking...that is how smart people are made. Nobody ever learned much by just talking and not listening.
Anyway, here's something for you to read. Don't ask this question again unless you read all of those and NeXe and you still can't figure it out.

Ok, thanks for the site btw :)
This is a good link:
http://www.gamedev.net/
GameDev sucks.. www.gametutorials.com :)
Actually, i find www.gamedev.net quite good for learning all the theory and concepts of stuff.
GameTutorials on the other hand has more code, but it is hard to learn anything from...
Well, I didn't browse GameDev.net very well, maybe it is.. but I didn't find any tutorials etc.. Can you show me where they are?
Thanks :)
To put this bluntly, Ruski. FIND THE DAMN TUTORIALS YOURSELF! Any person in their right mind can find information at gamedev. Open your eyes a little and you'll be able to find them.
I agree with TechWins. Or, since you seem to be having trouble understanding what people and websites are telling you in English, I'll try this...
Tu es stupide! Lire! <-- French
Du bist ein Narr! Lesen! <-- German
I know french but not german... And the only information I found on GameDev is where to start, where to get a book etc.. Maybe I just didn't dive in deeply....
Maybe...Quote:

That's your opinion, I don't use this website so often, it's was only a tip -> but I think, that it sucks too.
www.google.com (-> search there for directx)
Actually, i was just referring to the fact that he couldnt find the info.
That's what I said the really first time I saw it...Quote:

I don't know, if you have a problem???
Or are you talking always such ****!!!
If you think, that www.google.com sucks, that your problem, not mine.
I don't wanna, that we bother each other it is your opinion, but not mine.
You don't find all things directly at google, but it is the best searching engine and it is running of OpenSource (-> Linux and free databases).
So, I don't wanna continue with this chat.
Sorry, I have misunderstood you, cause I only looked on the sucks......
#include <iostream>
usingnamespace std;
int main()
{
for (unsigned short int i=0;i<1000;i++)
{
cout << "Sorry!\n";
}
return 0;
}
Error: 'usingnamespace' undeclared identifier. :p
Oh ****, you're right I have forgotten to make a space between using and namespace
Ok, you gather all mistakes (-> like me:D :D :D :D )
-> ruski is your name and mistakes are not your game:D :D :D
Yey!! Thanks :)
It's best to buy books.
It's best to spare some cash for when you really need it and find the books online :p
