Which do you like better, Star Wars or Star Trek?
I choose Star Wars.
Which Star Trek? The old or the new. I like the old series the best. When I was a kid I liked starwars but as I got older I appreciated the 'old' star trek.
I guess you can choose whether it is the old or new Star Trek. I wouldn't really know. I had watched in some years ago, but I go for all Star Wars now. So, you choose, old or new.
I'm a big fan of Star Trek Voyager. This movie is realy good.
I like both, but I'm not really a serious Trekkie or SW fan. I've got the Star Wars vidoes and some books and they are cool, but I don't go to conventions or anthing like that.
After Episode one(wasn't really that bad...hah) i kinda think lucas has gone soft in the head, but maybe he'll do bettr with EP 2,
I can't really say with the poll though I love the original Star Trek especially the Episode and no i don't know the name but the original Kan vs. Captain Kirk. Which the second movie later took off of which is great...
anyways im just waiting for LOTR it's has the potential to be the greatest trilogy ever...
>anyways im just waiting for LOTR it's has the potential to be the greatest trilogy ever...
Fingers crossed :X:
There are a few important distinctions between starwars IV-VI and episode I.
Luke was an underdog whereas Anakin is more certain and seems to take his powers for granted. It is ironic how Luke succeeds to overcome the dark side while Anakin fails. I think that Luke is easier to relate too.
The romance between Leia and Solo was quite good. Leia was hard to get and that was fun to watch. We'll see what happens between Anakin and Padme next episode.
Startrek (old series)
The old startrek was great because the storylines were all good and the actors are unforgetable. There is a lot of truth in startrek and it seemed like the movies made a lot of sense. I wanted to see more of these movies but deforest kelly is gone and the rest of the cast is too old. The characters interacted seemlessly and I laughed so much at the persistant comedy. I love all those characters. I'll never forget them. As far as the new startrek, I don't care for it too much.
The SFX in Episode I were bar none, but the story really didn't do it for me. It felt "dumbed-down" perhaps to suite a younger audience (which may sound strange coming from an 18yo). I liked it, don't get me wrong, but I thought after all the hype and the years that Lucas had to really write a solid script, it could have been far better than it was. Jar Jar was just plain stupid - funny for five minutes but seriously annoying after that! Episodes IV-VI were brilliant. Sure the original SFX weren't that great, but the characters were geniuinely interesting, as were the stories.
StarTrek? Well the old TV show's were pretty lame, but the original movies were really something. Who could forget Wrath of Khan? Again the characters really made StarTrek. The more recent versions such as Voyager, don't have the same impact. The only new generation character of Trek who I could liked was Picard. Though I think this is more to do with the actor who plays him (temporarily can't remember his name!).

Patrick Stewart?
Doh! Yeah that's the guy.
I loved the StarWars films as a kid.....Thy were my world. When ep1 came out I went to see it as soon as I can, and I must say that I really liked it. I had been waiting for these filmes for ages (well since Lucus hinted at them being filmed all those years ago).
Yeah... that JaJa gut was not great, but for me he did not spoil the film. As to the film not being as dark as the others, well... I suppose that is true, but this I would hope is due to it being the first film of the story, when the empire was not about. I imagine that when filming is over for two, you will see a steady progression into darkness as Anakin gets turned, Padmae (?) dies and the jedis all get wiped out.
star trek-the next generation...
i love the data character.
I never thought about that.... That's a good point - I think you're right, Dean...Quote:

I voted for Star Trek - if this was pre-EP 1, then it would gone the other way...
