Yeah, that Unregistered guy is trouble. However, he is correct in pointing out this forum uses vBulletin 2.0.3.
Once you decide what software you want to use for your forums, think about hosting. Are you going to host it from home? There are a number of hosting companies out there. Many of them are reasonably priced.

deckard to my saviour . .
nah, not gonna host it at home, just doing a reseach on it.
i have noticed, there are different boards. the other is UBB!
what is the difference?
what kinda of server? linux or microsoft ? for both UBB and vBulletin?

Try this site,
http://www.freecenter.com/forums.html
it gives a list of free forums (if you are looking for free ones anyway)

ubb and vbulletin? what is the differences?

i prefer PHPBB.. it's free and sweet looking.
if anyone has a contrary opinion, state it and i will promptly destroy your hometown...i mean... arguement.
-
Mmmm, phpBB does look amazing, I'd say ikonboard comes a close second. Older versions of YaBB looked good, but the new ones are plain ugly :/

I'm sorry, it is common knowledge that women are hopeless with computers. You might as well start studying interior design :)

:p Aran, that was hilarious! Thank you. :D *still laughing*

I also prefer phpBB over any others. If you want a forum that doesn't require a database, then you can get one at www.powerboards.tk. Its really nice, the person developing it is working on a new MySQL version of it. I'ver tested it for him and its really powerful and good looking.

i know, i ask alot
that forum look fantastic. im most impressed . .
what do you mean a forum doesn req a database?
what is the difference between a forum with database and a forum without?
i know, im sorry . .
to learn is to ask ! :)
thanks guys

Hermit... You first better sign up for a free board (forum)... before starting your own by investing lots.... So that you get to know what it is like to run a forum....
And if that Avatar you are using is really you.... Then you look real pretty...:)
