In need of good DirectX introductory books

Hello, I've just recently started learning how to design games using a somewhat outdated (2007) book on DirectX game design. My problem, however, is that the code in the book only works on Dev C++, and i'm having major issues compiling a DirectX application on it.

So my question is, does anyone know of good, introductory books on how to create DirectX 9 Applications/Games using the C++ language? It would be appreciated if these books were recent and compatible with Visual Studio 2008 or 2010.
