New to Programming: Don't know if I'm getting it.

Hello to all

I just finished the Pointers tutorial. I think I get it and the lessons before it.
But still I can't use the functions and the switch cases in almost nothing other than the examples in the lessons.
Does it mean I didn't get it right, or do you think I'll find more uses of it as with the progression of the lessons.

If you keep trying to use them you'll find some use to it, generaly I'd use it for menus or choices that the user needs to take.
