How to do port listening in C++?

I am a newbie at c++ but need to pick it up in a hurry for my project.

I need to develop an application that listens to an port (80) for incoming requests, takes a string from the request perform a function and return a result.

How do i do the port listening part? Maybe a simple sample code as well?

    Thanks in advance.

If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.
