    Stop errors on networked computers.

I have a few networked computers through a hub I had laying around. At the moment I have only two computers on it: my Win2k Pro box and my Win XP laptop. The trouble is whenever I shut down/reboot the Win2k box my XP machine crashes with a stop error. Saying something about like "to avoid damage to the system it is going to shut down"

Then after rebooting is says something about recovering from a serious error and mentions the dump file and a xml file will be included in the report. So I go to open the xml file because I couldn't ever make any sence of the dump file anyway. Well just after I open the xml file it flashes a message box about the same error again, and now the xml file doesn't even exist!

What the heck is that all about? How could this damage the system? Is it something I have set up wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated I am a complete novice at networking.

well... either you already answered your own question, it's windows

or, this hub is <mod edit> la la la, peacefully fuzzy bunnies!! </mod edit> up, and creates maybe a loop on the same port (not really suppost to happen). try to connect another computer to the same hub, and then try again.
