    Surf securily with Mobile Broadband

With a DSL connection I would use a proxy server in order to surf more securily. Are you able to do the same using a mobile broadband?
If I want to surf more anonymously through mobile broadband (with a usb device on a laptop) what are my options?

Sorry if my terminology is wrong...

I don't have any prior experience with mobile broadband, but to my understanding a usb device is just a wireless modem that uses your telephone's data network to communicate.

If you wanted to surf more securely over your phones' network, and you have a proxy server, you could create a ssh tunnel to the proxy and surf that way. Your information would be encrypted from your laptop to the proxy.
