    Question Regarding Loss of Packets!!!!

    Hi Friends,

    Can anyone tell me what are the scenarios of data packet lost????

    Packets get lost all the time on networks. The most common cause is network congestion, but another common cause is interference over a wireless connection. This is why TCP is such a popular protocol -- it has the capability for the sender to resend packets that were not received by the destination.

    You only need to worry about packet loss when you use a protocol like UDP which does not guarantee delivery of packets.
