Anyone know where I can get a free IDE for C++ for my Linux box, (Red Hat if you're wondering) or is there one already built in?

haven't used it much myself but it seems ok.

Just install it, I think it should be in rpm format.
My RedHat, anjuta is installed by default.
But I prefer to vim and gcc/g++ at console.

That makes no difference at all. You can run Gnome apps in KDE, and you can run KDE apps in Gnome. Hell, I don't use KDE *or* Gnome, and I run Quanta (a KDE app) and Galeon (a Gnome app). You just need the appropriate libraries installed.
