Unfair world

Hi to all the experts on this board,

apparently it seems that most of my friends and classmates are getting their assignments done by others. I feel frustrated by their action as they seem to be getting higher marks. Maybe this is how life works.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you do your own work and learn from it, then that's the main thing. As soon as the people who are cheating make it to the real world, they won't be able to hold a job for very long.

yeah i do have to agree with you biv. But it seems that nowadays no one ever bothers about doing their own works, at least for my friends.

Don't worry. Life is only starting. It takes an... hmmm... interesting turn after school days are over.

Sooner or later, their luck will run out as the assignment becomes too complicated for them to even comprehend how to solve it, and they fail to find someone in time to sponge an answer off.

The only real downside is that if they're already experienced "wafflers", they might get out of it. In work, such people get promoted rather than fired for incompetence

Does you college have an anonymous tip-off line?

Well apparently we can ask someone to write the code for just a few hundred dollars. What amazed me is that those can be found all over the college!

I wish I had that kind of money to blow... it would mostly go into feeding my caffine addiction and books. As it is, I only get a new book once every month, sometimes less than that. Hopefully I can find a job that pays better than min wage soon and be able to start getting more books.

I actually saw first hand students getting kicked out of class for cheating. My first java programming semester a few students got kicked out for doing the assignments together, the next semester someone in my class used this hire a coder website, and the coder for the person e-mailed my professor about it, he never told us who he was, but it was pretty funny, the student must have felt betrayed.

Then I heard from another student that was in my class that after I finished the exam, and the teacher was grading papers, he called the student up to talk about his assignment. In the class you had to give the written assignment and the output. if the output was doctored then that's academic dishonesty and you fail the class. The kid apperantly wasn't that bright and apperantly nonchalantly told the teacher that he had changed the output a little bit. The teacher is a nice guy and very funny and cool, but he was like, "you got a lot of guts just telling me that", and the kid got kicked out. The kid was kind of annoying, so I didn't feel sorry for him.

I wrote a homework assignment for an annoying person once in university. Simple code, and he clearly had no understanding or talent with programming.

I made an array of characters, the alphabet, and indexed into that array to create a special message upon execution. The program also ended with a couple hundred '\a' escape sequences

The message was "I'm a moron"

That's great. I've had people pester me for code before. And if they keep at it, eventually I'll write them something with a lot of stuff either coded or commented in it to let the teacher know that it's not of their creation.

Sometimes it would just be a few comments before a function:
