Are you sick of Gaagle.com ?

Are you sick of Gaagle.com ?

Are you sick of tracking cookies?

Every time I gaagle.com I end up with a tracking cookie form one of those advertizing companys. By those companys doing that they break several laws.

By tracking your computer from site to side that is cyberstalking.
By tracking your computer from site to side that is an invasion of your privacy.
By tracking your computer from site to side that is redirecting your computer to their servers that is fraud. You are not getting the site you typed in. If you do get there through their servers who knows what they are doing with your data?
By tracking your computer from site to side that is redirecting or blocking your original request which is unfair business practices. By changing the url you typed in.

Some of their sites mess up your settings. Some of their adds slows down the load web page.

There should be settings that disable gaagle.com redirecting and tracking cookie sites.

When you seek reference material are you sick of sales sites coming up? All stores no info?

There should be settings that disable gaagle.com from showing sales sites so that all reference material comes up.

And what about sites with popup adds? There should be a setting that will prevent the search results form showing sites that have popup windows. Safesearch is a joke. A bad idea with even worse results.

Gaagled.com <hairball>

And if you don't know how to remove cookies which have been there since the dawn of the internet, then you have no business using the internet.

And BTW tracking cookies don't always do all of that. Cprog sticks a cookie on your drive too so it can auto-log you in. I hardly think that's an invasion of my privacy.

Great so now we gonna whine about google?

If you are using Internet Explorer, you can go Tools->Internet Options->Privacy->Sites and then type in the domain, (google.com for example), and press Block. Then they won't be created.

I am sure other browsers have similar functionalty somewhere.

Whenever SpyBot or AdAware flags a site to me, I always block it. Now, they rarely find anything.

If we are talking about google, and I am by no means clear, <hairball> means nothing to me, I do not have a problem with their sites, although I do block their cookies.

i am not talking about autologin cookies i am talking about mediaplex that tracks your movements from site to site that uses there adds through gaagle.com. two seprate companys but one always pulls up the links to the other and you do not know which site had mediaplex untill after you get cookied. then tracked.

Good internet habits necessitate daily scanning of your drive for these cookies. Spybot, AdAware, and the like are more than adequate.

Ok I'm pretty sure we're talking about Google here?
If so, I believe without it, I wouldn't know what I know or get my work done (coursework & hobbies that is).

The best thing since Sliced processor usage.

EDIT: Yeah, why don't you use Google instead of Gaagle? It's not as if they hunt down websites that display their name - grow up.

What is this "internet" you speak of? My uncle, alfred, claims to have invented this device. I'll try it out one of these days.

Well, sorry, maybe you'll have to do a little work! When I started, AdAware and SpyBot picked up numerous hits. I added a few to the block list, and then let the spyware things take care of them.

Next time there were still many...

Next time there were still many but maybe not as many...

I added a few to the block list, and then let the spyware things take care of them.

... and so on. Now, I rarely find one when I scan, (2-3 times a day).

I seem to recall a utility called Anonymous Cookie from the times I was on Windows 95. It allowed cookies to go through, but submitted blank information when one requested something. Very handy tool. Should still be out there someplace.

Also if you are using Firefox, you can set it to clear cookies on exit (along with the cache and history if you want to as well).

No, but I'm sick of threads complaining about really minor annoyances (easily avoidable minor annoyances) on a free service.
