| a question - i see that something under "file sharing" has been censored above. what exactly is the limitation involved here? there are many ftp client/servers above, and they are extremely popular for "illegal" usage. other file sharing applications can be used for "legal" purposes as well. for instance, dc++ (available on sourceforge) is an extremely useful piece of software which one can use to distribute both legal and illegal files. the question is, do you suppress the file sharing link because it MAY be used to spread illegal files? (in which case, you should also remove ftp servers and possibly http servers). or did you suppress is because it was called LEETHAXSOFTSHARE (or kazaa)? addendum: then again, it may be the case that you are censoring "active" file sharing software, wherein you just enter in a search key and then lists of results are returned (ex kazaa, napster). under this type of censorship, ftp servers are cool because you must know their address before using them. in this case you should block links to google.com, which is a website allowing one to enter a search string and find potentially dangerous and illegal information in the form of html and other files. pps: the rule cited: 6. Messages relating to cracking, (erroneously called "hacking" by many), copyright violations, or other illegal activities will be deleted. all i'm saying is that use file sharing program is not copyright violation or an illegal activity. i can jump on google and find keys for windows xp at this moment, but it is not censored.

| I was going to debate that as well, because file sharing (and the utilities involved) is not, in itself, illegal... legally, there's nothing that can be done if the software is posted here under a proper license, but then again if the mods/supermods/admins/etc. don't want it there, there's nothing we can do about it, and it is covered under rule 6...
