My programming book for Christmas will shave those extra pounds.

The Eight Essentials of Program Design

I'm not kidding you. This week I'm receiving this from Amazon after a friend decided to offer me a programming book for Christmas.

I blame it on smartphones small screens or buying stuff while commuting. But honestly that's just my guess. How on earth he managed to screw this up, it is something I'm still gathering the courage to ask.

I've been lifting weights for the last

Pass now, maybe buy when the price comes

Perhaps your friend is under the impression that "Fitness" is a new computer programming language/technology; this book is clearly aimed at developers who use this technology:

For some reason, I was expecting the "In Search of Lost Time" of programming books...

He knows nothing about programming, and does very little of computers. We talked over the phone today (he's in Adelaide; A very good friend I made when I was living in Australia). He randomly picked up the book from the search results list. The cover didn't bother him at all and he couldn't be bothered reading the book description. Impulse buy = screwed friend.

But i'll make sure his book sits along all other programming books I own. Damn me if I don't.

If you have at least 2 other programming books to put it between, the title on the binder is all that matters.

The link you shared indicates that this not even a book, but a DVD. I'm trying to figure out if this makes it funnier or not.

This doesn't even look like it has much re-gift potential...

I'll tell ya what else is funny (or not) - I had some drinks in me when I first responded and totally realized it was a DVD. But I was back in book mode for the second post.
